Yoga body

I've been in a yoga class since the 28th of January, and I can now make it through the whole class. I still can't do the "downward facing dog" pose, because when I stretch down and forward the way it requires, my heart moves! It literally slips up toward my head if I try that pose, and it's a very weird feeling. Not only that, but then I get really weak, so it defeats the purpose. My teacher gave me a different pose to do that still gives me a good stretch. Anyhow, other than not putting my head below my heart, I'm doing pretty well.

We had another beautiful day today, even though it tried to snow yesterday. It was raining in the morning, and it became the splotchy, like it was turning to snow or slush. It didn't last very long, and this morning dawned clear and we moved into the 60's, it was great! It's supposed to rain again by Wednesday, let's hope it does. We might actually move out of drought into a normal desert climate!

Birthday weekend

What a beautiful weekend we've had! It was over 70 degrees today, Nic came up and we had Dakota's birthday party. She is 3 years old now, I can't believe time has flown by so fast. We played with Play Do and a Memory card game all afternoon, and Nic picked up a great ice cream cake for the party. It is so fun to have her visit!

David and I went to Phoenix yesterday to pick up leather. Heather asked him to make her a leather scripture cover, so we had to pick up the things he'll need. He hasn't done leatherwork for years, and all his dyes and polishes are dried up. We found some nice leather, lace, dyes and stuff at the Tandy store on Bell Road. Afterward, we drove to Mesa to have lunch with Jared. He has given notice at work that he's moving, his roommate has found another roomie, and the reality of the move is starting to sink in. Said he hasn't slept much this week, thinking of all the things he has to do. He is looking forward to it, but its a huge change in his life. Nic is pretty bummed too, but trying to be supportive, as are we. OK, I'm trying. The idea of my kids being 2800 miles away is pretty hard, but I know this is a good move for both of them, Heather starts school in May, and Jared wants to go to school too. They both plan to find work in Concord or Manchester, and then go from there. I take comfort in the telephone and airlines that will keep us connected!
